After the German reunification, S.C. BIOTECHNIK S.R.L was after 1989 one of the first new factories in Transylvania to work competently with stainless steel. The company was founded in 1991 by two German associates. Since 1998, the seat of the company has been located in Cisnădie (Heltau) near Sibiu (Hermannstadt).
But even before, there had been large factories located in that region producing components for nuclear power plants for the former Eastern European countries. That meant that qualified personnel well-trained for the manufacturing of stainless-steel products and the production of vessels was already there.
High-quality production offices and storage are located on 3.500 sqm. There is also an efficient plant for non-cutting and metal-cutting production.
BIOTECHNIK supplies equipments, vessels and components made from stainless-steel for the following markets: industry, chemistry, pharmacy, environmental, food industry, building services, construction, beverage industry, laboratory and the medical one. Qualified personnel, who weld stainless steel, is continously monitored by the TÜV Süd. The company’s services include mechanical treatment, pickling or electropolishing as well as grinding, polishing and producing cuts by water-jet cutting. It is possible to cut practically all kinds of material and to manufacture high-quality shapes with the existing 3D-cutting tool. In addition it is possible to offer the completing of stainless-steel units and assembling components.
BIOTECHNIK is tested by TÜV SÜD Industrie Service GmbH as manufacturer according to AD 2000-Merkblatt HP 0, TRD 201 and DIN EN ISO 3834-2. In addition, the company is certified for the production of pressure vessels according to the European Pressure Equipment Directive PED 2014/68/EU . Due to this, pressure equipment including steam boilers and quick locking mechanisms for pressure equipment can be produced for the entire European economic area. Since April 2011 S.C. BIOTECHNIK S.R.L. is a certified producer according to Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code (BPVC) of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME).
The company was from the beginning an export-oriented company. It is geared towards buying materials at home and abroad, then bringing the materials to Romania using the own vehicles, and finally performing free home delivery of the products to customers from the whole Europe. As a reliable supplier for well-known European manufacturers of sterilizers, BIOTECHNIK has established a good reputation.
